Can you shine your light through the dark times?

Here’s a secret that not many know. To truly shine your authentic light in this world, you have to befriend the dark.

And here in the northern hemisphere, nature is showing us just how fertile that darkness can be. Everywhere around me, snowdrops are popping up with their bright white flowers such a contrast to the dark earth. It’s Imbolc, the time of new life emerging after a long winter season. Lambs are born, and green shoots are emerging again.

Yes, it’s a time of hope and renewal. But here’s the thing. This new light, new life, is birthed through the fertile darkness. The snowdrops have been gestating in their bulbs and roots deep under the rich earth. The dark months have given us time to rest to restore our energy so that when the light returns, we are ready to rebirth dreams and new expressions of our unique creativity.

So cherish the darkness. Understand that in its heart lies nourishment. And celebrate the tenderness of new light returning.
