Three ways to spring clean your life
This time of year supports us to spring clean our lives, releasing things, habits andbehaviours that no longer serve you. It’s time to look at all aspects of whatever might be holding you back from being fully empowered YOU!
Sit back and assess your life. Ask yourself:
How does your energy feel?
How are your stress levels?
If you’re feeling drained and under stress, what could you change?
Consider your diet and exercise habits. What foods and behaviours do you depend on to numb yourself to stress and pain? Do you need support to let them go?
Breaking bad habits and cleaning up your life can be a powerful step on the journey to achieving your goals. Make the most of this time of year to review any self- sabotaging behaviours - yes, you know what I’m talking about! Call in help to keep you on track with embedding new, healthier habits. Change isn’t always easy. But as you fundamentally shift towards a life where you can bring your most embodied, authentic self to the world, you’ll discover what you need to release in order to clear space for your own growth.
As bestselling author Yung Pueblo writes “The unpopular truth is that healing Is gradual. It usually looks like letting go of the same thing a hundred times.”
Here are three simple ways to clear the space for change to happen in your life.
1. Review your diet. What do you reach for when stressed, to self-soothe and numb you? Can you interrupt that habit and consciously choose to do something that nourishes you and your intention to change? Check out my guide below.
2. Build in regular time outside in nature. Barefoot on the earth is best – helping to ground nervous energy and anxiety. What plants are growing nearby that help lift your mood? What feels good for your body when walking, or sitting in nature?
3. Try gentle movement when you’re tired or stressed, especially if your default is to binge watch Netflix, or slump on the sofa with a coffee. Put on some music you love and give yourself some time to follow the music with your body, breathing into the tiredness you feel. Yoga Nidra is an even gentler way to come back into relationship with your body and release stress.
