Let's talk Liminal
The liminal space. It’s a void, the place in-between. A place that’s resonant with possibility, a place connected to a vast consciousness that is ours and yet beyond ours. We enter its magic every time we cross a threshold in our lives.
That threshold may be mundane, like leaving the house to go to work. It may be huge upheaval – a divorce, bereavement, a birth. It is always a place of becoming.
And it requires a death. We must let go of something in order to cross over. What we must release isn’t always what we think it might be. It’s often something we don’t want to let go of.
For us to become ourselves more fully, the Imago process has to happen. The shedding of layers, of skin, of tears. Of people, places and things.
It can feel dark, lonely, frightening. There is no 12-step map because this is your unique process. Yet your soul knows the path through. Not your friends, though they may offer invaluable support. Not your neighbours, nor that social media influencer. There may be similarities and resonances, yet your essence is unique. Your pulse, your breath. The colours and textures of who you truly are.
Yes, my love, the threshold that faces is yours alone.
It is yours alone - and as I write this I have just come across a snake curled in the grass on this cold day. I can only imagine it to be dead. Regardless, she is a symbol of transformation. One who sheds its skin again and again. Releasing the old to become the new.
So something within us must die in order to be rebirthed. What does it take for you to cross the sacred threshold before you?
What does it take for you to fully Become?
I have crossed many such thresholds. I understand the terrain. And while I cannot fully inhabit your unique soul journey, I can light the way, the next step.
